The original plan had us taking the interstate from this point to the coast. However, I had programmed my GPS to avoid highways so we followed it to Solvang. I think it added four hours to the ride, but it was way more beautiful.
We talk to each other via CB radios. If I lead, everything is pretty clear. If he leads, there is a lot of static. Go figure!
There are some beautiful homes and views from the coastal roads.
This mail box is at road level, the house is quite a bit higher. When we stopped, we saw the mailbox heading up the hill. A lady at the top was pulling it up a cable that it is connected to by rollers. This way she didn't have to walk down the steep hill and then back up. Pretty clever!
The pool was inviting to these vroc guest.
