Near the Michelbook Country Club's cart shed

Some flowers in my son's yard

My son is outstanding in his field!

I like his turnaround drive

The remaining blimp hanger from WWII

These things were huge

What remains of the one that burned down in the mid 90's

I stopped by McMinnville to visit some dear friends of mine. About 10 miles out of town I realized that I had forgotton to take their picture. Luckily, my son is an artist, so he drew one for me.

When I started Precision Plastics it was housed in this spud celler that we converted into a factory.

When we outgrew it, I built this building and moved into it. It is now Brightwoods fabrication  shop.

A lot of people don't know that 2/3 of Oregon is desert with about the same rainfall as Phoenix, however it doesn't get quite as hot.

Then the other 1/3 is either mountains or lush valleys that seem more like rain forest.

I got the last non smoking room tonight. It was the jacuzzi suite, but they gave it to me for the price of a single.

I'll be hydromassaging pretty quick.

This driveway caught my eye as I was driving along a backroad in central Oregon

He has created his own ghost town at his mini ranch. Pretty COOL!

Smith Rocks, a popular rock climbing attraction

Another view of Smith Rocks

My friend Wyz, I don't think he has aged a day since I last saw him, yesterday.
Out of order, but this is the cockpit for the helecopter that Dennis is building.
Hey Sherm, you might have got the girl in Calico, but I got the girls in Bend.<G> I woke up to screaming outside my motel room and this is what I found! Actually I asked them if they would like to sit on it, they lit up!
The Mckenzie river near where I stayed last night

Just over the fence from my bike is a bicyclist campground. They have many of these along the Mckenzie hwy as it is a very popular bicycle route. Cranky, you been here?

Like Ed and Carl, I like to be able to see my bike when I stop to eat.

I love it when a "plan comes together"

These are lava flows. The whole Cascade range is vocanic and they go on for miles. I walked out on this one to take the pic. It is very rugged and hard to walk on. I can't believe that when I was in my early twenties I used to hike a 1/4 mile every day to get to my favorite fishing hole on the deschutes and thought it was nothing. I hate geting old!

The Dee Wright observation post is built entirely of lava and has two identifiers on top pointing to all of the different landmarks.

Again, in my twenties I climbed the left one and signed my name in the Mazama's book at the top. I thought it was a pretty hard climb back then. It makes me hurt just thinking about it now.<G>

These are the two mountains on the right of the previous picture taken from a much different angle.

I don't know exactly how deep these flows are, but I have been in some lava tubes (caves) that have rooms at least 30' tall. Always full of bats.

Stopped by to hear an old friend preach

Dennis, a friend of mine since my early twenties is re-building this scorpion helecopter

He built this shop before I left Bend. Someday he plans to finish it.<G>

I had a great visit with my ex Mother in Law and Sister in Law. They never seem like ex's to me, still love them just the same.

I meant to stay in the town where I was born, but I took a wrong turn and ended up in the mountains along the Mckenzie river.

It was starting to get dark and I wanted to avoid the deer over the mountain pass. Big moon, lots of deer! Besides, I was getting tired.
At the Coos County fair, a ride that the whole family can take together

The food didn't last long enough to get a picture

A ride for people of all energy levels

I signed up, but didn't win one:(-

These changing stations really protected the kids modesty

My favorite quilt

An excellant job on this bulldozer

Sherm is getting excited about the upcoming square dance exibition

I liked this photo of a girl with a blackberry eye

Just added this for my kids, both are OSU grads.

What Sherm came to the fair for :)

We're leaving so I took this picture for no good reason

I had the Italian Sausage and sourkraut. Fair food is so good and really healthy.
Sherm is unloading his XT from his Minnie

He and Pat let me stay in the minnie last night, it even had wifi

Not too often you see a Sherm bike looking like this!

Not too long either. Looks like new again.
